A Better Way To Sit Up

Is this how your baby is trying to sit up? 👆🏼

A lot of babies attempt to get into sitting this way. And they may be getting a lot of reps in 💪🏼, but it's not going to get them any closer to sitting up.

What this poor little banana doesn't realize yet, is that if it rolls to it's side, then it can push up with it's arms into sitting!

You can help your baby discover this, too…

Try this:

When your baby attempts to sit up, roll them to their side first. Then slowly sit them up.

By sitting them up slowly, it gives them the opportunity to participate by lifting their head up to the side (head righting that was discussed last week!) and pushing up through their arms.

Eventually, with practice, they will realize how much easier this is than sitting up like the banana! 🍌
